Hudco Formula 4020LB

Beaded Wearing Compound

HUDCO 4020 LB is a specially formulated wearing compound that contains high wear resistance beads in a strong, durable epoxy matrix that is reinforced with ballistic grade aramid fiber for added wear resistance.  The beads are made of a high wear resistance material.  Because the beads in 4020 are small in size, a greater exposure of the wear resistant bead material occurs. This results in improved wear resistance and material flow.

Typical Applications

HUDCO 4020 LB is excellent in a wide range of applications including chutes, screw conveyors, pneumatic conveying equipment, slurry pumps and other areas where high wear occurs.

(B) Roughen surface by grinding or sandblasting (3-5 mil surface profile) Surface must be completely dry with a minimum surface temperature of 75° F before applying.

Mixing: Mix 2 parts of HUDCO Formula 4020 LB Resin to 1 part of HUDCO Formula 4020 LB Hardener by weight. Kits are supplied in the correct ratio. Ensure that the sides of the mixing container are scraped into the mixture. Mix several minutes, until consistent color is achieved.

Application: Apply product to prepared surface and use supplied tools to achieve desired finish.

Curing: At 75°F, product will gel in 30 min. Initial cure will occur in 3 hours. Final cure occurs in 3-4 Days. Curing can be accelerated by heating the applied product to 140°F. Product properties will also be improved by curing at this elevated temperature.
